Ethiopia's growth continues to place real demands on its water and energy resources amid climate variability and resource scarcity. The 3rd Ethiopian Water and Energy Week builds on two successful predecessors as the country's premier platform for evidence-based dialogue and collaboration.
Hosted by the Ministry of Water and Energy at the iconic Addis Ababa Science Museum, EWEW 2026 deepens the integration of scientific research into policy and practice, strengthening partnerships across the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) nexus in support of Ethiopia's green growth ambitions and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Plan your visit
Everything international and local delegates need to prepare for a week in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Fly into Addis Ababa Bole International Airport (ADD), a major continental hub served by Ethiopian Airlines and many international carriers. The venue is a short drive from the airport and central hotels.
A range of international and local hotels are within easy reach of the Addis Ababa Science Museum. Delegates are advised to book early, as October is a busy conference season in the capital.
Most visitors can obtain an Ethiopian e-Visa online before travel. Apply well in advance and check the latest requirements for your nationality. Registered delegates can request a supporting invitation letter.
Addis Ababa sits at ~2,350 m altitude with a mild climate. Currency is the Ethiopian Birr (ETB); time zone is EAT (UTC+3). English is widely used at the conference alongside Amharic.
